I recommend using a circuit tester like the digital multimeter linked above and testing the pins in the connector on the AC end. Making sure the power wire has power and so on.....

Before replacing the linkage, like part # LC379648, on your steps first check the gear. I spoke with my contact at Lippert who said that when the motor is continually running that means that there are teeth missing on the gear. If you have a single or double step unit then the replacement gear is part # LC301696. view full answer...
